Actor Raveena Tandon says she is elated that via Padma Shri, the fourth maximum civilian award in the u . S ., her paintings in each mainstream and unbiased cinema has been identified.

The actor, who dominated the 90s cinema with hits inclusive of “Mohra”, “Dilwale” and “Dulhe Raja” even as also creating a mark in off-beat movies such as “Daman”, “Satta” and “Shool”, made her a hit streaming debut with Netflix collection “Aranyak” in 2021. She also played an important position in “KGF: Chapter 2”.

“It feels excellent that there are people looking and appreciating you. I thank every person who has been with me on this adventure and supported me during,” the actor she said.

The recognition of mainstream entertainers normally dominate an actor’s filmography, but Raveena feels "fortunate" that her overall performance-oriented roles in “Satta”, “Shool” and “Daman”, for which she won the National award satisfactory actress, did not pass not noted.

The actor said it become a struggle to fight stereotypes returned and recalled how she had to convince Ram Gopal Varma to cast her in 1999 movie “Shool”.

Raveena, who in the end performed a Bihari housewife to Manoj Bajpayee's character within the movie, remembers Varma announcing, "after I close my eyes, I can see you doing ‘Aankhiyon Se Goli Maare’’.“In the 90s, it turned into clean to get stereotyped. It was a conscious decision to begin difficult myself as an actor. I was getting stuck in that stereotype, I had to break far from it.
